Community-based voluntary organisations in Scotland can apply for up to two years of funding to support or scale-up pilot projects that increase their capacity to deliver core services tackling poverty and social inequality.
SCVO is offering grants of up to £8,000 per annum for up to two years for charities, voluntary organisations, and other groups with an annual income of less than £200,000 to:
- Pilot small innovative and creative projects, increasing capacity to deliver core services tackling poverty and social inequality.
- Scale up pilot projects to attract more risk-averse grant funding to sustain the work going forward.
The Community Capacity and Resilience Fund will enable organisations to try creative approaches to tackle poverty and social inequality and help organisations who don’t currently have the capacity or resources to try different methods of delivery or build delivery capacity in their services.
Examples of projects eligible for funding include:
- Piloting/testing an idea that might benefit the community.
- Training staff/volunteers in benefits advice.
- Bringing in-house an external benefits advisor.
- Adding some staffing hours to develop and enhance a service that is currently provided to meet an increase in demand.
- Developing new systems to track referrals and progress and aid networking between organisations.
Any funds awarded must be spent by organisations by 30 September 2024.
The deadline for applications is 26 August 2022 (11:00).
